About Us
We offer an unprecedented 24 hour countrywide service with dedicated, highly trained machine operators. We have successfully completed a number of key projects throughout Ireland for both private organisations and local government authorities. The business was set up in January 2004 in Lusk, North County Dublin.
Road Planing
Ryan Road Planing provide an exceptional service with our fresh fleet of machines, none more than three years old. Our cold milling machines are used for the quick, highly efficient removal of asphalt and concrete pavements. In doing so, they create an even, true-to-profile base for the construction of new surface courses.
Road Sweeping
Ryan Road Planing Services have a fleet of Scarab Magnum Road Sweepers, we offer a 24 hour, 7 days a week service nationwide. Our road sweepers have worked on numerous projects in the past including the M1, M3, M7 Upgrade Projects, Motorway Apple Service Stations and Dublin Airport.

Ever wondered how you resurface the main runway at Ireland’s busiest airport? This is how we do it.
Almost every night since last November, a construction team of up to 200 people has been hard at work doing exactly that. The job must be done at night as the main runway 10/28 has to close to allow for the work to take place.
The numbers:
- 200 construction workers
- 150 pieces of machinery safely moved on and off the runway every night
- 100,000 tonnes of new asphalt
- 200 km of new electrical cable
- 10 km of new electrical ducting
- 1,700 new LED lights
- 66% reduction in energy usage

A Complete Resurfacing
The 18-month runway upgrade, which includes a complete resurfacing and the installation of new ground lighting systems, is essential to ensure that Dublin Airport’s main runway can continue to operate safely. Runway 10/28 opened in 1989, handles about 95% of all flights at Dublin Airport and is a critical piece of Ireland’s national infrastructure. This is the first time that the runway has had a full overhaul.
